Sticks & String

A podcast by an Australian bloke who knits.

Midweek update – 21 March

I’ve remembered it’s Wednesday again.

There’s a lot going on. I got a call from Kris at Tapestry Craft today with two important bits of news, the Knit Picks needles have arrived, so I can pick them up tomorrow. And Kris and others are doing some internet TV knitting on Saturday for Countdown to the Chaser. If you’re around early on Saturday, you can join Kris here (and it will be available to be viewed worldwide!). Unfortunately I can’t make it as Saturday is election day and I’ve volunteered to give out ‘how-to-vote’ cards. Expect the show on Sunday as Saturday will be busy. Until then, happy knitting.

  1. Hi David,
Just wanted to say that I really enjoy listening to your podcast. I have enjoy your music selections also, especially Rob Costlow.
I bought a set of the Knitpicks needles a couple fo weeks ago and I love them.
Thanks for the how to on stitch markers. I’ve made them with jump rings, beads and wire before, yours look like they’ll be easiler to slide from needle to needle.
I’m off to shop for supplies. Looking forward to your next podcast.
    Thanks, Kathleen, Connecticut, US

  2. Yay!
So glad you are finally getting your KnitPicks. Of course you’ll review them for us, right? 🙂 I’m not sure if I want them or not!

  4. I’ll add my 2 cents about the KnitPicks needles… I LOVE them and my old metal needles don’t stand a chance after I finally get all the sizes I need.

  5. I liked the way the music changed from ‘you’ to the piano! Funny that.

  6. Hi David – I have the KnitPicks and am really enjoying them. I had a few issues when I first got them but KnitPicks has great customer service and remedied the problem for me immediately. I am working on the Sahara sweater right now and they have kept my gauge really beautiful and consistent. I’ve also knitted 3 pairs of socks with the smaller circulars and they are my favorite. I’m thinking about ordering some extra Size 0 and Size 1 circulars just so I can start different things whenever I want. I don’t think I could use any others now. Love the podcast! Thanks for all of your hard work.

  8. Hello David, What a wonderful podcast. I am new to the world of podcast listening and yours is one of the best, if not the best that I’ve heard. I enjoy hearing about what you are knitting, the products you try, the books you read, and some of the personal and family tidbits you share. I live in Canada now and I’m moving to Belgium this summer. I can’t wait to visit the European wool shops and factories. Again, thanks for all effort you put forth to produce a first-rate podcast.
